What exactly am I paying for?

Is anything free forever?
Yes. 300 minutes of on-device transcription a month with no account, and 5 AI summaries a month once you connect a free CloakAPI wallet — drawn from the shared suite pool. It's the same detector and the same receipts as the paid tiers.
Do you ever hear my meetings?
No. Your audio is never uploaded, streamed or posted — it's transcribed entirely in your browser. Only surrogate-bearing text reaches the gateway, and only when you press the button. The receipt attests both.
How is this different from Otter.ai or Zoom's AI notetaker?
They upload your audio to their servers to transcribe it; their terms say so. cloak-meet exists for the meetings where that's not acceptable — the client call, the case conference, the review. The AI never hears the room — the audio never leaves your device — and what it reads is the surrogate transcript, with the names the on-device detector found already replaced. The ledger shows exactly what leaves before you send.
